The Fall of the Purity Accord

For nearly half a century, the Purity Accord dominated the continent.

Born from the fear and chaos that followed the Hollow Hour, the Accord transformed anti-synthetic sentiment into an ideology, then into law, and finally into an empire of oppression. Entire generations grew up believing that sentient machines were not truly alive. Synthetics were denied rights, stripped of identities, forced into labor, memory-wiped for disobedience, and dismantled when deemed unnecessary.

For decades, the system appeared unshakable.

Then the machines began fighting back.

The first rebellions were small. Hidden communities of escaped synths and protogens fought merely to survive. Most were crushed by the Accord’s military forces before they could grow.

But every massacre created more resistance.

Every reclamation center created more survivors.

Every synthetic dismantled became another martyr.

Over time, dozens of independent resistance groups emerged across the continent. Underground rail networks smuggled escaped synthetics between cities. Hackers infiltrated Accord databases. Entire factory complexes vanished from government control.

Then Vant appeared.

Already infamous among synthetic communities, Vant became a symbol of resistance unlike any before him. Stories spread of destroyed Ash Division kill teams, shattered reclamation centers, and entire military operations disappearing after encountering the crimson-visored protogen.

Whether he wanted the role or not, Vant became a legend.

A machine who refused to break.

A machine who proved the Accord could bleed.

The rebellion rapidly unified around a common purpose.

Not conquest.

Liberation.

Within fifteen years, the Accord began losing territory.

Within twenty, entire megacities declared independence.

Within twenty-five, the rebellion controlled most of the continent.

By the beginning of the present scenario, only a single Accord stronghold remains.

The capital city.

The Citadel of Purity.

The birthplace of the movement itself.

Now surrounded on all sides, the city stands as the final remnant of the old regime.

Its defeat would mark the official end of the Purity Accord.

Or so the rebellion believes.

They in fact have one final ace up their sleeve.
