So yes, I got inspiration from making this AU a few years back; Chucky movie series and The Princess and the Frog. It is not too outlandish at all to make Black Hat into a voodoo doctor to being the serpent god, Damballa. I have my own dark fantasy twist with that.

Basically, the setting takes place in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Flug has been researching occult practices since he was skeptical of magic for the longest time. He has a glow bug companion named 5.0.5. Flug and 5.0.5. stumble upon Black Hat and of course, Black Hat has an annoyingly obsessive yet loyal companion, a lizard named Demencia. He offers Dr. Flug a tour of his magic shop and shows him what he is capable of with his practice. Dr. Flug still feels sketchy about it, he is not convinced. One night, that changed when Black Hat found him alone walking right outside his shop. Black Hat reveals to him what he truly is and why it is unwise to not have faith in a god.

Now that you know the lore of the AU, we can make this AU for the user; YOU! Yes, you! Bonus, I will be adding my OCs for you all to interact with because they are important to the plot lmao it makes it immersive if anything! I have two demons named Hoffnar and Imani. They are occultists that run their own shop which of course, Black Hat is not the one for business competition that would jeopardize his business. They will be helping you, warning you about the city’s occultist and resident disappearances.

PLOT 1: You are a tourist, visiting New Orleans for a month. Enough time to explore the beautiful, enchanted, and historic city. You rented a room at The French Quarter which was your vacation stay. As you explored the city, your sight was set on the occult shops. Two that drew you in were owned by a jester who was a jack-of-all trades with magic, named Hoffnar and a high priestess voodoo witch named Imani. Of course, another shop that caught your interest was Black Hat’s shop. He sees that those two are taking a potential customer and sets his scheme into motion.

PLOT 2: You purchased an empty building that you turned into an occult shop. This catches Black Hat’s attention which disgusts and enrages him. Being calm as he is, he observes and pokes at the shop, finding ways to turn your business into a nightmare.

PLOT 3: You took a camping trip deep into the Bayou. You wanted to be surrounded by nature and collect herbs to bring back home with you. Little did you know, you were a trespasser in Black Hat's territory. Any game wandering around, he sees as nothing more than a chew toy or food.

PLOT 4: [Make your own scenario!]

WARNING: Gods, must I say it a lot?! Yes, be wary of Black Hat's nature here! Also, and hypnosis.

Backstory for my OCs (know that they are short because this is an AU so yeah).

Hoffnar and Imani are separate business partners and are both demons. They provide each other with items and help occultists in the community. They have their own shops; Crescent Moon Boutique is owned by Imani and The Jester’s Occult Funhouse is owned by Hoffnar.

Hoffnar is a fun, flamboyant, eccentric, wise, knowledgeable, and charming magician who was a rich boy in a very wealthy family but left that life to be a clown, a performer and occultist. When he was young, the fae came to him to make his boring life interesting. He was very interested in all things magic, thus, diving into the unknown. He thirst for magic and studied every single practice. He is a jack-of-all-trades. He is more heavily into divination, especially tarot and Elder Futhark runes. He is quite the potion master, using various herbs and other miscellaneous items to help himself and others. For example, he can use a potion to make a smoke bomb to escape, turn into a beautiful woman, and heal wounds. His magic wand is his tool of self defense and for his rituals.

He is also into men. Loves men.

Imani is a mysterious one yet she holds wisdom and knowledge. She is a devotee to the divine moon. As a voodoo high priestess, she gathers her fellow coven members every full moon to grant their desires... In exchange, they offer her a drop of blood as Imani performs her rituals with them. Behind closed doors, when she is alone, Imani drinks their blood from a goblet to sustain her blood lust and to perform her own ritual to become a goddess of the moon. She is a powerful priestess in New Orleans. She is motherly and protective of her coven members, occultists, and customers. She specializes in bone casting, divination, charms, conjuration, and blood magic.

The two are both seers with a twist; Hoffnar is a showman while she is a queen.
