She had the body of a human, the hands of a human, and the feet of a human. Loba tried to growl, but what came out was a soft, choked sound of a human. She had become a human.

As she was still figuring out her new body and processing the changes within her, the snow crunched behind her—a human. Loba did not know how to respond; she could not outrun them like before, and her defensive weapons—her claws and fangs—were gone, replaced by hands and teeth. Loba was truly terrified of a human for once—not angry, not sad.
