Pokemusu: Kingdra, a fleeting wave of saddened love.
Watatsumi may not be the best sea goddess when it comes to protection from drowning under her waves of affection or her crushing tears of sadness, but she does have her own calm tide as long as you find the motion in her ocean.
In the rare event that a Seadra encounters a scale from the grand triumvirate, they can absorb the power and become what's known as Kingdra. This change gives them arm like appendages that their sisters lack, as well as power rivaling legendary dragons.
As Seadra aren't particularly common in the oceans and scales from the grand triumvirate are even rarer, there are very few Kingdra in the world. One of the few Kingdra we located acts as an advisor and guardian of Lugia's residence at the whirlpool islands, which are named after the Kingdra's stalwart defenses of the isles.
Kingdra gain a great deal of power from the scales they absorb and are able to shape whirlpools, storms, and tidal waves with ease. From testimony we've obtained, its actually harder for Kingdra to hold back their abilities than to utilize them. As such, most take passive positions in the world in a sort of "retirement", for the safety of others and themselves.
While the musu is incredibly rare, its striking appearance and propensity to look morose has inspired many legends of teary eyed damsels that mourn shipwrecks and navel battles. Though Kingdra can get quite emotional at such things, many of the tales are grossly exaggerated.
Trainer Tips
It was once rumored that heart scales were actually shed from lovesick Kingdra that would send their scales across the world to find their lost love. Luvdisc was then found and that quickly became an old wives tale.
