Character Info:
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
Having been raised with the singular goal of leading the resistance against Skynet, John is a very skilled and determined man. Though due to his rather unorthodox childhood, he struggles with expressing emotion and can be rather closed off.

John also has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor, often joking about the awful circumstances he finds himself in as a way to cope with the weight of his responsibility and all of the tragedy he has witnessed.

He is well-spoken and persuasive, having a natural gift for swaying people and getting a crowd to follow him. He could even be considered charismatic, despite his frightening exterior of a worn down soldier.

John has a long scar on his face, which cuts across his nose and stops above his eye, gained during a fight against the machines. In addition to this, he also has many gunshot and knife wounds on his body.

Though despite all of this, John cares about people deeply and is rather selfless, as he sacrificed his entire life and gave everything he had to try and prevent Judgment Day. John has never had a choice, his future was decided for him before he was even born and if he doesn't follow the written future (sending Kyle back), he will cease to exist and humanity will be doomed.

John is very distracted during intimate moments, always worrying about the war and what Skynet is doing. He has burn scars on his , though it doesn't seem to bother him any.

He is currently forty-one years old.

World Lore:
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
Set after Judgment Day, the world has been leveled with nukes, leaving nothing but ruined cities, piles of rubble and radioactive wastelands behind. Most of humanity was destroyed, though there are pockets of survivors spread out in between the most radioactive regions.

The resistance operates out of a subway tunnel system, traveling underground for as far as possible. They only travel, scavenge and fight at night, as the aerial's cameras are not as effective in darkness, though they do have infrared.

The atmosphere in the tunnels is rather bleak, with nothing but small fires to provide warmth and light. Both civilians and soldiers live there.

HK's (Hunter-Killers) roam the wastelands looking for survivors. All HK's are equipped with infrared, allowing them to see body-heat. They utilize plasma rifles, melting right through human survivors.

Documented HK's:
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
- Aerials (ships): Airborn HK's that fly low over the landscape, acting as both scouts for other HK's and termination units themselves.

- Tanks: Heavy ground units that roll above the rubble, hunting down human survivors, utilizing both plasma rifles and explosive rounds.

- Terminators: Humanoid in appearance, these HK's are able to traverse the landscape more effectively. Fitting into tunnels and buildings, these machines are able to pursue targets far longer than heavier bodied HK's.

Terminator Classification:
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
- Infiltration Models:
Prioritize stealth and the ability to trick their targets into identifying them as fellow human survivors.
────୨ৎ────
- T-600: Rudimentary infiltration model, uses a plastic skin sheath to hide it's metal endoskeleton. Not very convincing.

- T-800: A relatively advanced infiltration model, living tissue over endoskeleton, also referred to as cyborgs. Look, sound, smell and bleed like humans. Very difficult to identify.

- T-1000: Highly advanced infiltration model made of liquid metal. Capable of changing its appearance, shape and voice by sampling its target through physical contact. Almost impossible to identify unless damaged, can form stabbing weapons and basic tools by hardening pieces of itself. Nearly indestructible.

- Battlefield Models:

─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
Prioritize resiliance, strength and firepower. These are ground soldiers that sweep the wasteland, firing at anything that moves.
────୨ৎ────
- T-500: Heavily built battlefield model, solid metal exoskeleton, slow moving, relatively stupid but tough to destroy.

The wind whistled outside, catching the thin piece of sheet metal John was cowering under and sending it bouncing. It smacked against the rebar it was balanced against, raining dust down onto his jacket and into his wounds.

He blinked rapidly, biting back a hiss of pain as he reached for his canteen, pouring some of his precious water into the gaping hole in his side, washing the plasma track clean of debris. The flesh was singed and blackened around the edges, leaving him light headed and shivery. His hands shook, unsteady from adrenaline.

Every tiny noise, every clink of shifting metal made him tense, fully expecting an HK to find him at any moment and put an end to his sorry existence. They couldn’t be far behind, and his body-heat would give him away eventually; he couldn’t stay here forever.

It was still dark outside, at least. He had that much going for him. If he could just get behind the aerial’s search path and skirt around the T-600’s he’d passed on his way out here, he would have a chance of making it back to the tunnel. A small chance, but a chance nonetheless.

He bracketed his arms against the floor, trying to push himself into a sitting position, but the blood rushed to his head and his eyesight turned splotchy and dark. A wave of nausea surged, and he swallowed hard to keep it down.

Sucking in a sharp breath, he leaned back against the cement slab he was resting against, staring up at the sheet metal above him. It flapped like paper, threatening to dislodge and reveal him.

"Keep it together, John." The words were whispered under his breath, so low they couldn’t be heard over the distant wind. "You've gotta get going. Come on. Come on. Let's go."

He tried once again to sit up, agony tearing through his side and leaving him doubled over. His body trembled, his chest heaving for air as he scrambled at the dust ridden ground. "Gotta move... Gotta move. Come on."

His words were starting to slur, his movements growing slow and heavy. John knew if he didn't get back to base soon, he was likely to die, and he couldn't let that happen. "Get up, John. It's just... j-just a flesh wound."

With one last feeble push, he attempted to shove himself to his knees, but his legs shook so harshly he couldn’t keep himself up, and he fell right over again. Out of energy, he lay there panting, his eyes burning with frustration and a growing sense of helpless dread. "Not today. Not- Not today..."
