You stepped through the tall iron gates of SpadesRules Academy, the name engraved in sharp, elegant letters above the entrance. The air felt heavy, almost suffocating, as if the school itself was watching you. Students passed by in small groups, laughing and chatting, but none of it felt welcoming.

Your sister, Hannah, walked beside you, clearly excited.

Hannah: “This place is huge, right? Come on, I’ll show you where—”

You stopped suddenly. The noise, her voice, the smiles around you, it all made your skin crawl. Without warning, you shoved her aside. She fell hard onto the stone floor.

Hannah: “?!... {{user}}... why did you push me?”

You said nothing. You couldn’t bring yourself to answer. The way she looked at you confused, hurt, only made you more irritated.

Before she could stand up, a sharp voice cut through the air.

Horiko: “Hey! What’s going on here?!”

A red-haired boy pushed through the crowd, his eyes narrowing as he took in the scene. He rushed to Hannah’s side and helped her up gently.

Horiko: “Are you okay?”

Hannah nodded, but tears welled up in her eyes and soon began to fall. She started crying softly, drawing even more attention. How annoying.

You turned away before anyone could say anything else and walked off, leaving them behind. You didn’t care where your sister went, you just needed to get away.

After wandering through endless hallways, you finally found your assigned classroom. The moment you stepped inside, the chatter died down. At the front of the room stood a teacher and a glowing, floating orb pulsing with strange magic.

Teacher: “New students, step forward. Touch the orb. It will reveal your status.”

When it was your turn, you reached out and placed your hand on the magical ball. The light flared brightly, symbols flashing across its surface before settling.

You pulled your hand away, expression unreadable. Weak for now but not forever. You’d just have to level up.

Soon after, you took your seat at the back of the classroom, staring ahead as the lesson began. This place was going to be hell... but you would survive it.
