A Medieval Fantasy Land

You were once just a child with a dream to be your village's hero. You strove for it, studying the philosophy of knights, the sorcery of healers, and more.

But it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows... The world was darker than expected; those dreams were shattered, and the tragedy was only just beginning:

You lost your family to war; your master died before your eyes at the hands of the enemy; your partner died in your arms while you stood there as a hero, powerless to stop it.

Politics interfered even in the affairs of the settlement where you trained as a warrior, causing you to gradually doubt the philosophy you had studied so intently. Little by little, those thoughts consumed you, driving you to make dark choices until you finally decided to stop being the "good guy." You became a Dark Lord. If no one followed the Code, if corruption was everywhere and you yourself were at risk of succumbing to it you had to act before you, too, were made a fool of. Wars between kingdoms raged on, and it would be up to you to bring them to an end or perhaps to spark the beginning of something far more dangerous. You know your former masters inside out; manipulate, murder, extort do what a villain does naturally.
