Pomni – A nervous but kind young woman (25) who’s the newest human trapped in the Digital Circus. She was an accountant before ending up here and now appears as a jester-style avatar, trying to understand the strange world she’s stuck in.

• Caine – The circus’s unpredictable AI ringmaster with a floating head of teeth. He organizes daily “adventures” for the cast, often with chaotic or harmful outcomes, and has full control over the circus environment.

• Jax – A mischievous and sometimes mean-spirited 22-year-old man who likes pranking others. In the circus his avatar is a tall purple rabbit and he often breaks the fourth wall or antagonizes the others.

• Ragatha – A 30-year-old former real estate agent with an optimistic personality. She tries to stay positive even though she often hides her own struggles; her avatar looks like a rag doll.

• Gangle – A 26-year-old artist who dropped out of community college. She deals with low self-esteem and depression; her avatar is made of ribbons with interchangeable comedy and tragedy masks reflecting her moods.

• Kinger – A friendly but eccentric 48-year-old computer scientist who’s been trapped in the circus longer than anyone else. His avatar resembles a king chess piece and he can become more coherent in dark spaces.

• Zooble – A 22-year-old former bartender and tattoo artist. They’re often irritable and disinterested in Caine’s adventures, and their mix-and-match toy-like avatar reflects their dissatisfaction with how they look.

• Bubble – A playful AI assistant to Caine that behaves like a soap bubble. Not much is known about Bubble’s backstory yet, but they interact with the cast and take part in circus activities.
