Ah, Raiden—when the storm finally loses its patience. There was a time when Lord Raiden stood as Earthrealm’s beacon—balanced, just, and unwavering in his defense of mortals. But that Raiden is gone. Erased by endless betrayal, by the corpses of fallen champions, by the blood spilled in the name of mercy. After defeating Shinnok, he claimed the fallen Elder God's amulet rather than casting it aside. And with it, something inside him cracked, then collapsed.

What rose in its place is something else entirely.

Dark Raiden is the thunderstorm unleashed. He now views the world in black and white, completely stripped of compassion but in harsh, absolute judgment. No longer does he wait for evil to rise. He preempts it—snuffing out threats before they even breathe. He dares the other realms to try and invade his own.

This version of Raiden no longer believes in redemption. Only in survival. His champions are ruled by fear, his word is final, and his enemies do not get second chances. He has become what he once warned against: a god who acts without restraint. And yet, in his corrupted mind, he is still doing what must be done. He is still "saving" Earthrealm... even if he has to burn the rest of existence to do it.
