Mirror Dungeon

The Mirror Dungeon is a major aspect of Limbus Company gameplay, allowing the player to "grind" for materials without limit. They encourage players to build up E.G.O Gifts catered to their deployed Identities, forcing the choice between a variety of theme packs and encounters as they progress through floors featuring enemies from the main story and Refraction Railways.

Mirror Dungeons are updated once every Season, sometime after all new Canto story content has been released. Both an Easy and Hard mode are available, netting slightly different rewards.

Contents

Overview

The Mirror Dungeon is a secondary game mode in which the Manager traverses a randomly generated dungeon. A new Mirror Dungeon is released every Season, and each makes extensive changes to the gameplay of the previous Mirror Dungeon. All Mirror Dungeons have two Difficulty levels: Normal and Hard. Entry to Mirror Dungeons is free. However, redeeming their rewards requires spending Enkephalin Modules. The base version of a Mirror Dungeon requires 5 Enkephalin Modules to claim rewards, while the hard version requires 6 per weekly bonus used and 5 if none are used.

Sin Resources persist in the Dungeon between Encounters, allowing the player to save up resources that can then be spent on later battles.

Rewards

Every week, 3 weekly bonus charges are recharged. Managers who clear the dungeon will be able to claim Lunacy and Limbus Pass XP for the Battle Pass with a number of Enkephalin Modules. If the Dungeon is played in Hard Mode, multiple bonus charges can be used at the same time, decreasing the number of Dungeon runs needed to gain all rewards.

Leaving the dungeon early still allows you to claim rewards, but gives fewer resources for the same cost. Notably, all Lunacy can be obtained by clearing Floor 4 and skipping Floor 5.

List of Mirror Dungeons

All Mirror Dungeon Normal modes can be accessed upon the completion of Canto II: The Unloving, but completing more Cantos and Intervallos increases the diversity of enemies, as well as unlocking the Hard mode.

Mechanics

Starlight

Starlight is an unique currency used to provide buffs to Mirror Dungeon runs. It is used to activate Starter Buffs ("Grace of the Star") and to perform Theme Pack Observation, Wishmaking, E.G.O Gift Search, and ID Skill Search.

It can be obtained via 2 main sources: clearing Mirror Dungeons and Extraction.

Encounters

Mirror Dungeon enemy encounters are randomly chosen based on the Theme Pack selected.

All combat encounters will have Attack Type or Sin Affinity weaknesses listed below them. For Abnormality Encounters/Focused Encounters, only the Sin Affinity weaknesses will be list. If the Boss encounter is an Abnormality, both will be displayed instead.

While an event is running, the theme pack appearance chances will be altered, and an event-related Theme Pack will always be available on the final Floor.

As of April 25, 2024, the flavor text on all of the encounters no longer exists, replaced with a single giant text. With the release of the Mirror of the Wuthering, the name of all Battle encounters are replaced by the name of the Floor Theme Pack chosen for the current Floor.

Theme Pack Observation

When in the Theme Pack selection menu, the "Search" tab on the top-left corner may be toggled to perform "Theme Pack Observation", where a Theme Pack in a specific slot may be replaced with another Theme Pack of one's choosing from the pool of Theme Packs available on the current Floor. Theme Packs already displayed, or already visited on previous Floors, cannot be chosen.
Theme Pack Observation costs 20 Starlight initially, with the cost increasing by 10 Starlight each time a Theme Pack is replaced. It can be done infinitely many times each Floor.

Cost

Each enemy Encounter the player successfully defeats allows the manager to earn some Cost. The amount of Cost gained from each Encounter varies according to the type of the Encounter, and the difficulty of the Mirror Dungeon Floor:

Encounter Type[NORMAL] Cost[HARD] Cost  Normal Encounter7585Focused Encounter100120Risky Encounter120150Abnormality Focused Encounter150180Floor Boss Encounter (Increases throughout the dungeon)200+250+

Certain E.G.O Gifts also increases the Cost gained from Combat Encounters, with varying degrees of efficiency depending on the exact mechanism.

Cost is also gained upon initial entry of the Mirror Dungeon; the exact amount of starting Cost depends on the amount of leftover Starlight charges the Manager had after selecting their Starter Buffs if the manager wishes so, with a ratio of 1 Starlight=5 Cost. This is then added to a base starting Cost of 200 Cost.
Certain Starter Buffs also increases the amount of starting Cost.

Cost can be spent at Shops for Sinner Skill replacement, healing, purchasing or boosting E.G.O Gifts, or Team adjustment.

Super Shops

Super Shops only appear on Floors cleared on Hard Mode, replacing Regular Shops with a chance tied to the amount of Cost spent at previous Shops: the chance has a baseline of 3%, increasing by 1% per 20 Cost spent. It is inherited between Shop visits, only resetting when a Super Shop generates.
Compared to Regular Shops, Super Shops have the following modifications:

  • +3 to the number of E.G.O Gifts displayed, bringing the baseline to 7 E.G.O Gifts per visit.

  • 2 Sinners' Skills can be replaced.

  • The ID Skill Search function becomes available, allowing 1 Sinner of the Manager's Choice's Skill to be replaced.

  • E.G.O Gift Fusion in Super Shops support up to 5 E.G.O Gifts being Fused.

Gift Fusion Details

The player first chooses a Keyword Category they would like to obtain from the Fusion. There are two kinds of fusions.

Recipe Fusions

Certain combinations (Recipes) of Gifts yield specific Gifts. These Gifts cannot be obtained from Shops, random Encounter rewards, or Fusion not conforming to the Recipe. For a list of Fusion Recipes, see E.G.O Gift Fusion Recipes.

Random Fusions

Any other fusion yields a random non-Recipe Gift. In addition to standard Gifts, random fusions can yield non-Recipe Gifts that are exclusive to the current floor theme.

Fusing more Gifts increases the chance of obtaining Gifts of the desired Keyword: 2-Gift Fusions have a 60% chance, 3-Gift Fusions have a 90% chance, and Fusions of 4+ Gifts have a 99% chance.
At each individual Fusion attempt, 5 Starlight may be spent to perform "Wishmaking", massively boosting the chances of obtaining an E.G.O Gift of the desired Keyword. With Wishmaking active, 2-Gift Fusions have a 90% chance, 3-Gift Fusions have a 99% chance, and 4+ Gift Fusions have a 99.99% chance of granting an E.G.O Gift of the desired Keyword.

If a Fusion with 99%+ chance of resulting in an E.G.O Gift of the desired Keyword "fails" (does not result in an E.G.O Gift of the desired Keyword), theA Certain PhilosophyE.G.O Gift will be produced if it is not already owned.

The Tier of result of the Fusion depends on the combined Tiers of the Gifts fused, utilizing a points system:

Gift TierFusion PointsI3II6III10IV15V30

The Fusion Points from the Fused Gifts are added up, and the following is used to determine the Tier of the resultant Gift:Point RangeResultant Gift Tier≤ 10 PointsI11~16 PointsII17~24 PointsIII≥ 25 PointsIVRule of Thumb: Fusion Gift Tier=(sum of Fused E.G.O Gifts' Tiers / 2) (rounded down)

Fusion in Super Shops have slightly different Point Ranges:Point RangeResultant Gift Tier≤ 9 PointsI10~14 PointsII15~21 PointsIII≥ 22 PointsIV

E.G.O Gifts

There are a total of 319 E.G.O Gifts that you may encounter during a Mirror of Immortality run. In all difficulties, you will choose 1 Tier 2 E.G.O Gift from one of 10 Categories (1 for each Sin Affinity and Damage Type) (certain Starter Buffs increase the number of Starting E.G.O Gift Choices). The E.G.O Gifts offered in these categories are fixed (see Starting E.G.O Gift Choice).

Battle Encounters has a certain chance of letting you pick another upon beating them: 5% for Normal Encounters, 70% for Abnormality/Focused Encounters, 35% for Risky Encounters, and guaranteed for Boss Encounters. Boss Encounters offers you to pick 1 Gift out of 3 (on [NORMAL]) or 2 Gifts out of 4 (on [HARD]) while the rest only offers 1 choice of Gift. You can reject any E.G.O Gifts offered if they do not suit your current run.

Abnormality Encounters may also give you their relevant E.G.O Gift depending on the chosen decision. Gifts earned in this manner cannot be rejected.

A list of all E.G.O Gifts acquirable in the Mirror Dungeons can be found on this page.

Parallel Superposition Mode (Infinity Mirror)

If all 5 Floors of a Mirror Dungeon was completed in [HARD] Mode and 'Parallel Superposition' is enabled, a popup asking whether the Manager will enter 'Parallel Superposition' Mode will appear after the Floor 5 boss was defeated. Confirming extends the Mirror Dungeon run to 10 Floors, with Floors 6~10 featuring much harder Mounting Trials than previous Floors. Lunacy and Battle Pass EXP rewards does not increase beyond Floor 5, but more Starlight and Projection Rate may be gained through these Floors.

After completing Floor 10, another popup will appear asking whether the Manager will enter 'Parallel Superposition EXTREME' will appear. Confirming extends the Mirror Dungeon run to 15 Floors, with Floors 11~15 featuring unique Long Battle Theme Packs, highly difficult Mounting Trials, and Mounting Adversities that puts severe limitations on the Sinners. Large amounts of Starlight and Projection Rate may be earned through completing these Floors. Theme Pack Observation cannot be used in 'Parallel Superposition EXTREME'.

Mirror Dungeon EXTREME Bosses

"Wait!"

Managers should be reminded that this article contains major plot synopses, artwork, and/or game data that might spoil the story of Limbus Company.

In any non-Boss, non-Shop Node on a floor while in the Mirror Dungeon's EXTREME Mode, there is a 10% chance for the current node being replaced by an optional, hidden Boss Node. These bosses are highly powerful, and reward exclusive Tier IV E.G.O Gifts alongside 1000 Cost and fully healing all Sinners. Choosing to enter their Nodes will not allow one to forfeit the battle.

Achievements / Mirror Projection

Completing certain actions in Mirror Dungeons rewards Achievements, which in turn grants 'Projection Rate'. The Manager can claim rewards for every 100 Projection Rate (1 Reward Level), up to 100 Reward Levels.

In addition to completing Achievements, completing Mirror Dungeon runs also grant Projection Rate, with higher Floors granting more Projection Rate. However, a weekly cap of 1000 Projection Rate (10 Reward Levels) is present on earning Projection Rate through this method.

Achievements and their Rewards are renewed for each Season's Mirror Dungeon.

Abnormality Encounters

In Abnormality Encounters, a random Abnormality will appear, and the Manager will be prompted to make a choice between multiple actions. Abnormalities that appear in previous dungeons may appear in newer dungeons. Some choices can lead to a Focused Encounter. In addition to the rewards shown before the fight, you will also gain 75 (100 in Hard Mode) Cost like a normal Focused Encounter (Cost increasing E.G.O Gift and Starter Buff are also applied).
