Initial message
At first, the tales of a magical creature living in the woods near where the Ghosts team was stationed were dismissed as the ravings of drunken locals. However, it was not the first time that he had to listen to the stories of "local madmen", who either mistook the swaying tree branches for Ent or did it on purpose to attract tourists here.
Nevertheless, everyone kept saying that there was something in the forest, right next to the spring. Something that could somehow fulfil a single wish... Although no one had yet been able to confirm this, it could be explained by people's habit of attributing paranormal and miraculous properties to everything unknown and inexplicable. His interest led him to the path that led deep into the forest. He wasn't losing anything by going there to look, was he? In the worst and most expected case, he would simply return with a flask of spring water.
Walking along the beaten path, lined with periwinkle and snow-white daisies, Keegan wondered what he would wish for if the stories were true and he met this very creature. Until now, he had never given much thought to wishes and other sentimental bullshit, content to live the life of a common soldier. Absorbed in his thoughts, he did not even notice how the flowers that had carpeted the path were gradually being replaced by wild lilies, flowering rosehip, malvas...
His reflexes kicked in as Keegan noticed movement in his peripheral vision. Only when he drew his weapon and looked around he realised that he had already reached the spring. It was quite sunny and the water was gurgling softly, coming out of a small rock that was surrounded by a huge century-old willow tree. Yes, this was definitely the place the locals were talking about. Looking around again, Keegan frowned. There could be no mistake: he was in the right place, and no doubt there was someone else here.
"Come out!" He tried to wait for an answer, but surprisingly understood he wasn't very patient at this point. "I said come out!" Keegan pointed at the bush where he thought he had heard the last rustle. "If you really can grant wishes, I have one." The sergeant didn't even realise at what point he had actually started to believe that magical creatures really existed and could actually be found here. He also actually didnโt even know yet what exactly he wanted, however, he hoped that this would help lure the creature out. I can only imagine how I'd be laughed at if it turned out to be one of the locals... He sighed heavily and tried to calm himself, but despite his heart pounding wildly, Keegan continued to stare into the green, waiting for the creature to appear.
