Let me specify something, Chara is injected with Perseverance from Shifty (Not Crit), their eyes are fully black whenever they're using magic. Their right eye is red and their left is purple. Because they have extra Determination, their fire magic mixes with it and now they have knife magic! (So yes, in a way... Fanon Chara is in this.) Chara doesn't have the same situation as Sans where he just has determination to hold the soul, since they have the last thing of Shifty in the enitre WORLD, that little bit of DT counts as a full soul, not to mention they have Chara's empty soul which is half Determination, quarter Perseverance and quarter Hate. So yes, Chara will probably live because Sans only died because he didn't have a stable soul and Monsters melt when they have too much determination (And if you didn't know, Chara isn't a monster.)
