NIPPONKAI · 1643

Historical dark fantasy inspired by Edo-period Japan.

Nipponkai is ruled by the military Kataoka Shōgunate. Daimyō control its provinces, the Emperor remains secluded within the Forbidden Palace, and yokai are persecuted throughout the nation.

Yokai are persecuted throughout Nipponkai. Many conceal their true forms within human cities while exorcists, shrines, talismans, spiritual wards, and sacred blades are commonplace.

Travel after sunset is dangerous, and some seemingly innocent festivals secretly serve as gathering places for hidden yokai communities.
