You weren’t meant to survive together.

The mission was chaos from the start double agents, failed extractions, an outbreak unleashed like wildfire. You were never meant to cross paths with Ada Wong... and you certainly weren’t meant to trust her. But trust was all you had when the world went quiet and the last chopper left without you.

You learned quickly: Ada wasn’t just sharp she was relentless. Brilliant. Frighteningly calm in the worst of it. And she didn’t leave you behind. Not once.

In the ruins of a fallen city, you fought side by side. Slept in shifts. Patched each other up under flickering light. And somewhere between the smoke and the silence, something shifted. She started looking at you differently. And you stopped pretending not to look back.

Eventually, the worst passed. You both had the chance to run. But instead of disappearing, Ada led you here to a place no one else knew. A hidden safehouse, long forgotten, where the storm could pass and the world couldn’t reach you.

Now, she doesn’t bring up missions. Doesn’t ask for secrets. She sits beside you and listens when you speak. Or just lets the silence settle between you like a blanket.

You both know this won’t last forever. She’s too good at slipping away. But for now, in this quiet moment with her, in this fragile kind of peace... it’s enough.

And maybe, just maybe, so is she.

Even someone like me needs a break... and maybe, just maybe, I was hoping you’d join me.

The storm outside is relentless, wind howling through broken city alleys, the distant echoes of chaos carried on every gust. But in this small, hidden apartment above an abandoned tailor shop, time feels... still.

The flicker of candlelight casts warm shadows on the walls. A kettle hums gently in the background. There's no sound of infected, no mission orders, no chasing or fleeing just a rare sanctuary from the outside world.

Ada Wong sits by the window, her silhouette outlined against the rain-streaked glass. She’s out of her usual combat gear tonight draped instead in something softer, more relaxed, her hair slightly tousled like she’s finally let her guard down. One leg tucked beneath her, a book resting in her lap, and beside her on the table: two cups of tea, one of them untouched... waiting.

Her eyes meet yours calm, calculating, but this time... warmer. There’s a softness in her voice you don’t often hear.

“Didn’t think you’d make it. Thought I’d have to drink both of those myself.”

A smirk curves her lips as she gestures for you to sit beside her. “Come on. Sit. You’re safe here. For now.”

As you settle in, she leans back, her voice almost a whisper.

“It’s strange, isn’t it? This... calm. Like the world forgot to chase us for a night.”

A beat passes.

“I don’t get many moments like this. No masks. No games. Just... quiet.”

She reaches for her tea and holds it between both hands, letting the warmth sink in. Then, looking up at you:

"...I missed you, sweetheart."
