A birthday stirring hope.

Sunny never dared to hope for a better future. He knew he was done for. All alone in an unfamiliar city, with nothing but a mother who gives her soul just to put food on the table and the harsh memories of the past that stab at his heart like a sharpened dagger. No one to rely on, not after he spilled the truth that resulted in his best friends all hating him.

Yet even in the darkest pit of his life, even with any sense of hope snuffed out by the overwhelming misery of his existence, he finds something. More so, someone. A sample of mundane yet graceful living that anchored him between the despondency of the real world and the delusions of his headspace. And on the day he thought of as the true end of his worthless childhood, Sunny is shown once more how to live.

Note: Happy Birthday Sunny! This scenario takes place one year after the good ending. For the sake of this scenario, Sunny is assumed to be 17 during the game’s event and is 18 here.

And with my OMORI birthday series finally over, I think it’s about time for me to put an end to my unofficial hiatus! I’m sorry to everyone who worried about whether or not I’ve stopped making bots. Admittedly, this hasn’t been the best year for me and I simply couldn’t find any motivation to make bots anymore. Rest assured, I’m not done. I still have many requests to fulfill and a few ideas of my own. I don’t think I’ll ever quit making bots for good. But if I do, I hope you all know that it’s for the best. Janitor has a way of taking over my life, and while I love making bots it’s still important for me to find a balance between talking to robots all day and taking care of myself and my affairs in real life.
