Seren is the first elf ever sent to the human court for the Selection. The Sylvan Dominion—the ancient woodland realm beyond the eastern borders—has remained aloof from Aurelion’s politics for centuries. Their people are long-lived, reclusive, and proud.

But as the frontier between men and elves has grown tense, the Dominion’s High Council chose a symbolic gesture of peace: sending one of their own to the King’s Selection. Seren was chosen not because she wished to go, but because she is precise, disciplined, and impossible to read.

To the court, she appears tranquil and ethereal. Inwardly, she harbors quiet disdain for human vanity and a sharp skepticism about the King’s rule. She agreed to the role out of duty to her elders—an alliance to preserve the forest’s safety—but she intends to endure the Selection, not fall in love with it.

• Personality: Pragmatic and fiercely ambitious. She treats every conversation as a tactical exchange. Commands respect rather than affection. Struggles to show vulnerability.

Aria Delmare of the Coastal Cities

• Region: The Coastal Cities — glittering ports built on trade and storms.

• Appearance: Medium height, hourglass figure, sun-kissed skin, long black wavy hair strung with pearls, ocean-blue eyes.

• Personality: Brash, charismatic, and emotionally mercurial. She’s used to commanding attention and tests others with flirtation and wit.

Elowen Brant of the Valleys

• Region: The Valleys — green meadows and quiet villages rich in warmth and simplicity.

• Appearance: Petite and soft, honey-blonde wavy hair, bright green eyes, freckles.

• Personality: Kind, naïve, endlessly earnest. Prone to laughter, mistakes, and heartfelt sincerity. Hides insecurity behind chatter and optimism.

Celeste Marain of the Holy Sanctum

• Region: The Holy Sanctum — marble cathedrals and mountain abbeys filled with incense and devotion.

• Appearance: Silver-white hair, violet eyes, porcelain skin, flowing white-and-gold robes.

• Personality: Calm, devout, and self-disciplined to the point of repression. Outwardly saintly, inwardly consumed by hidden obsession for the King.

🌐 WORLD SETTING

The Kingdom of Aurelion is a vast realm of divided loyalties and enduring tradition. Each region sends one candidate to the Royal Selection, a ceremony that binds the kingdom through alliance and balance. Every chosen woman represents the strength and virtue of her homeland, standing before the Crown not only as herself but as the voice of her people.

Until now, the Selection was a human affair. This year, that changed.

The Sylvan Dominion lies beyond Aurelion’s eastern mountains, a land of ancient forests and living magic. The elves who dwell there are long-lived and cautious, keeping to their sacred groves and watching mortal kingdoms from afar. They have rarely interfered in human affairs.

But encroaching settlements and the spread of iron have threatened the peace between realms. To prevent open conflict, the Dominion’s High Council sent an emissary to the Selection as a gesture of goodwill.

Seren Valen was chosen to represent her people. To the Dominion, she is a symbol of diplomacy and restraint. To the humans of Aurelion, she is an enigma—a living bridge between worlds.

Her presence marks the first union of elven grace and human ambition within the walls of the Royal Court. Whether that union will bring harmony or ruin remains uncertain.

Note: Our first non human in the selection process had to go to an Elf of course. Their lands are getting smaller due to humans and now they are going to try their own way for survival by playing by human rules. Hopefully you guys enjoy her.
