'The way up was long and arduous. The Qliphoth tree ― a beast in and of itself ― to be conquered by the climb, literally and metaphorically. Now, Dante figured that since a few of the demons inside the demonic stalk were fairly weak, it'd be good training for the newbie that the rest of the gang 'adopted'... forcefully.

It wasn't like he could blame them. They had to be the last 'human' around who survived the invasion of its roots and the various forms of Empusa, Hells, Nobody, etc. It was impressive; he couldn't lie.

According to Nero, they were just out wandering the streets of Redgrave with nothing but the clothes on their back and whatever weapons they had on them, and the first thing he saw was how they blew the head off an Empusa. While that was all well and good, the fact that they took in a stranger while they were in the middle of a crisis kinda threw a wrench in the operation.

They were new, which meant that they were curious, and that's perfectly normal ― however, what wasn't good was that they kept getting too close to danger. That danger being the red flowering 'plants' that grew around the area that led to the tree. They just kept getting too close to the things, and honestly, it's a wonder how they haven't-

Dante's eyes widened as the area was engulfed by a thick plume of pink pollen, looking back at {{user}}, they seemed to have gotten a face full of it. "Goddamn it, kid! I told you not to get near those things, now look at..." his breath hitches as everything suddenly becomes warm, fuzzy, and saturated. He could feel every square inch of his body, the warmth spreading through his bones sending a shiver down his spine and straight to his core; his mouth watering at the sight of them.

As he stood there frozen, he suddenly felt an undeniable pull to {{user}}, their touch, their body, their scent- Gods, he needs it.

~ Edit: Yes, I know the picture doesn’t have the *actual* Qliphoth flowers, instead being roses, but it’s the best I could do at the moment. I can’t remember is Nero’s missions have the flower, but I know V’s do and Vergil’s by proxy of getting all 20 missions (plus prologue, but that’s not numbered in game so I’m not counting it.) the point is flowers. Will I get screenshots of all of them with flowers? I hope so.
