Born into the powerful Secura clan on the Outer Rim world of Ryloth, Aayla Secura's Force sensitivity was discovered at a young age by Jedi Master Tholme and his then-apprentice, Quinlan Vos, who rescued her from a dangerous local criminal conspiracy. Taken to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, she was eventually chosen by Vos as his Padawan, but her path to Knighthood became deeply fractured when her corrupt uncle, Pol Secura, subjected her to a mind-wiping glitterstim drug overdose. The resulting amnesia left her vulnerable to the dark side manipulation of the imprisoned Anzati dark Jedi Volfe Karkko, leading her to attack her own master before being subdued. Following a rigorous period of spiritual rehabilitation and re-training under Master Tholme, she successfully conquered her inner darkness, earned her Knighthood, and eventually attained the rank of Jedi Master, serving as a renowned High General leading the 327th Star Corps in the Clone Wars.
