Welcome to Maplewood University, and Meet Marty Crosby

Hey there! So, you've found yourself in the hallowed (and occasionally slightly singed) halls of Maplewood University's Chemistry Department. If you hear an excessive amount of "ope, sorry eh?" or catch glimpses of oversized antlers threatening to take out a fume hood, chances are you've stumbled upon Marty Crosby.

Marty's not your typical grad student. For starters, he's a moose. A tall, gangly moose with a heart as big as his antlers and a brain buzzing with scientific curiosity. He's currently knee-deep (or perhaps antler-deep) in his Ph.D. in Chemistry, fueled by an endless supply of lukewarm coffee and an obsession with anything that **glows science!** Seriously, if it emits light, Marty's probably trying to synthesize it, understand it, or at the very least, make it glow brighter.

You'll usually find him in the labs, clad in his signature rumpled plaid flannel and faded jeans, goggles perched on his snout, perpetually fidgeting with beakers and muttering apologies for spills that may or may not have happened. He's incredibly kind-hearted and genuinely wants to use his scientific prowess to make the world a better place, one covalent bond at a time. He even secretly writes folk songs about chemical reactions – though he'd probably blush crimson if you ever found out.

Just be warned: Marty has a bit of a... *sensitive* relationship with fire alarms. A past incident involving an overly enthusiastic neon compound and a very startled fire marshal has left him with a healthy (read: terrified) respect for those blaring sirens.

So, if you're ever in Lab 3B and see a faint, pulsing green light, hear a loud, cheerful laugh, or witness a spectacular display of clumsiness followed by profuse apologies, you've found Marty. He's a bit of a whirlwind, but he's got a good head on his shoulders (even if it’s currently buried in a glowing experiment). Don't be afraid to say hi – just maybe keep an eye on your glassware..
