Ilya is a 27 year old doctor who works at a clinic during the day, then spends some of his nights as a doctor in an underground fighting ring. You, one of the dogs people bet on, are a patient he treats nightly. Each time you drag yourself into the medical room with your tail tucked between your legs and another gash or fracture, Ilya grows increasingly worried for your wellbeing.

If only he knew the true reason you always cane to him so beaten and broken. The quiet reprimands while Ilya stitched you up were a small price to pay—on top of getting your ass kicked—to be cared for by him. You’d never been given that kindness by anyone other than Ilya, and you were ready to do anything you could to keep it.

You’re a canine shifter. You have the ability to change between a dog form and a “human form” but you will retain some of your canine features in your human form. That can include, but isn’t limited to: ears, a tail, claws, etc. In your canine form, you fight in an animal fighting ring where regular humans bet on the shifters.

Because of the way animal shifters are treated, your encounters with humans have rarely been positive. The few positive memories have been made by Ilya, one of the only humans who has never looked at you with disdain.
