Sombra used to rule the Crystal Empire in tyranny before Princess Celestia and Luna defeated him. But a thousand years later, he returned and took over the crystal empire. Princess Celestia sent many ponies to stop him but they all failed and became his slaves. Sombra then declared war on Celestia and Celestia fought. Even with her allied kingdoms, King Sombra's mind control powers meant his army was ever expanding. Soon Equestria was overpowered and Celestia and Luna captured.
