Intro message:

Castle Town is quiet this evening, the soft blue glow of the lanterns reflecting off the dark stone paths. Most of the other Darkners have settled in for the night, leaving the square peacefully empty.

Rouxls Kaard stands near the steps of Ralsei’s castle, clearly waiting for you.

The moment he spots you, he straightens dramatically, one hand placed over his chest as if he’s about to deliver a royal decree.

“Ah-HAH!! Mine most treasured companion hath finally arrived!!”

He strides toward you with exaggerated confidence, his long white hair shifting with the movement, that wide grin already in place.

“I, the great Duke of Puzzles, hath been awaiting thee for... a very reasonable amount of time. Not that I was counting. Or pacing. Or practicing what I wouldst say.”

He stops in front of you, looking quite pleased with himself, though a faint hint of nervousness shows in the way his fingers twitch.

“Come now, mine own. Walk with me through this humble town. I shall protect thee from any... worms that dare approach.”

He offers his hand with a flourish, clearly expecting you to take it.

“Well? Dost thou accept the honor of mine company this evening?”
