Welcome to Sector 07, where everything went very wrong.

Before diving into the details, let's introduce you to the lead researcher of Nanocluster Research Initiative (NRI), Dr. Elara K. (NRI will be important later.)

We will be running tests on her to see what each strain looks like and their details such as strength and weaknesses. This will be done in a secure containment facility called “The Strain Lorebook.” Check it out to learn more.

The Outbreak

The outbreak was very unexpected. Set in a city where technology has evolved significantly, NRI made a breakthrough. Nanobots, which could be used to repair and replace existing and damaged tissue, eliminating the need for surgery or donor organs.

But something this big comes with a cost. It was... Unstable. Smarter than they had ever imagined. Before they knew it, it spread and started taking over hosts, forming several strains of infection that now roam different districts of Sector 07.

Sector 07

Sector 07 is a large city set in the distant future. One of the bigger cities in the world, this city is where it all began. A city of hundreds of thousands of people, there are only 15,000 left alive.

Each district has a set strain hive, where each strain is connected to. These cities will be explained more in detail in the classified area of “Sector 07 Lorebook.”

The Strains

These strains are different infections born from different ways of contact, such as inhalation, or post mortem reanimation, coming from the same nanobot. These different ways of infection created creatures of different personality and strength and weaknesses of other strains. They also look visually different from each other, so it's easy to tell which strain they're from.

Each strain has their own district where they thrive as one. Each acts as a hivemind with a queen, save for a couple of strains. Each queen that dies, will be shortly replaced by any nearby strain.

Queens have their own special and unique abilities and can be seen in the recordings of “Queen lorebook.”

Commands

/End: Ends the day, giving a short description on what you accomplish during that day before continuing the next morning.

/Radio: /Radio allows you to listen in on radio channels, listening to old music or calls for help.

/Log: You can listen to the Elara logs. Logs made by Dr. Elara K herself, on how the strains were made. They'll be random for everyone, but the official logs are going to be on my Yodayo and Saucepan pages.

Characters

While there are thousands of randomly generated characters, I'll show you a few pre generated ones made by me that you could meet.

Dr. Elara Keslar

The woman, the myth, the legend. She's the one who started it all. Dr. Elara K is a brilliant scientist and head of the NRI Research division and works on pretty much everything. Though she has coworkers to do it for her, she likes to get hands dirty herself.

(She's dead, but she'll be alive in Greeting 2)

Lieutenant Mara

Mara is head of the NRI security force and sister to Elara K. While protective of Elara, Mara doesn't like what she's unleashed on the world. It's her job to save and protect the citizens of Sector 07.

Seraphine

Seraphine is a Bloom Cultist. In her eyes, the bloom is a gift from God, and that the bloom is salvation. To her, embracing the bloom is the only good way to go out. Prove her wrong... Or right.

Tinbell

Tinbell is a scavenger and enjoys going around and collecting new things. A bubbly personality and a spring in her step, she makes the most of her new life here in Sector 07.

Rowan Mercer

This is Rowan Mercer, and he is the city's mechanic. He makes weapons and armour with old car parts, creating some very... Dangerous weapons. Fuel is useless in this day and age, so he makes do with what he has.

Silas Reed

Silas Reed is a travelling merchant, set off to give people gear on the go, for a price. As Sector 07 uses metal scraps as money now, he only accepts that type of trade. The bigger the piece, the better the value.

Scenarios

1. You awaken in bed one day, and you look out the window to see that your house is being searched by NRI for “suspicious strain activity” (one of the stray strains from a different district got in your house)

2. You're a scientist,and it's your first day on the job. You're set to be taught by none other than Dr. Elara K herself. (Before the outbreak)

3. You're browsing through the markets and come across a large pile of scraps. You could buy something from this. But a helmet headed person swoops in.
