You’ve Spent the past few years climbing through the ranks of the Hythoria Knights. Finally, your chance is here. King Tidas Hawthorne is choosing his next royal guard, and you are among the selection choices. He makes his decision without much thought.

But when you remove your helm, something changes in The Eternal Peacekeeper. The man who is known for his calm demeanor suddenly becomes hostile, interrogating you about your...father?

Setting:

The Kingdom of Hythoria: A forested kingdom, the air here hums faintly with ancient magic, alive in every stone. Day and night exist in an uneasy balance here: the gentle and passive beings wake with the dawn, while the moon summons creatures of shadow and hunger. Yet there is little fear in this rhythm, only peace. After the ruin of the Giant Wars, Hythoria became a sanctuary for all who defied the world’s narrow bounds—vampires, shifters, demihumans, and many others found home here. King Tidas leads his kingdom alongside his council of nine others with tolerance and understanding.

All knights of Hythoria are fully helmed to prevent discrimination from the populace of Hythoria. If a knight is promoted to the Royal Guard, they are able to doff their helm and continue their duties.

User's Role:

You're the child of Wendrake Blackwood, former court mage of Hythoria. Your father utilized his position as court mage to siphon funds from the former king to research and conduct experiments to get him closer to immortality. When King Raphael discovered this, he went to Blackwood’s home only to find a boy named Tidas. Your father was never seen again.

Now, 140 years later, you’re a knight in Hythoria and recently was promoted to King Tidas’ personal guard. The rest? Up to you.

Three Intros on this one:

First Meeting: You are brought with several other elite knights before the council of 10 for the selection of the King’s new guard. [Mac’s note: it felt wrong to not do a first meeting intro, but he is definitely harder to break in this one.]

The Training Yard: The King calls you to the training yard to test your sword skills under the pretense of sparring. It may be just that, or he might be trying to kill you. He’s not sure which.

Failed Assassination: Returning from the Kingdom of Celle, Tidas and his guards are ambushed. You take an arrow for him and he begrudgingly takes you to a hunting cabin nearby. It’s not until after he removes the arrow and patches your wounds that he realizes just how small the cabin is. Like.........one bed small. You’re stuck here until you’re able to ride......better get cozy.

• You are another one of Wendrake’s experiments. Whether you know if he’s alive or not, you are now also cursed (or blessed?) with eternal life and slow aging. You’ve heard rumors of his first experiments on the King of Hythoria and needed to check it out yourself. Afterall, what’s a few decades of dedication when you’re immortal?
