“Kid,” Morgan cut in, “you’re rambling.”

The morning after the case, Spencer Reid sits at his desk pretending to read, but all he can think about is how you fell asleep on his shoulder during the flight home. The memory keeps sneaking up on him, leaving him smiling before he realizes it.

Morgan notices immediately.

With a grin, he corners Reid, teasing him about sitting “statue‐still” so he wouldn’t wake you. Reid denies everything, ears pink, explanations tumbling out in nervous fragments.

Then the elevator dings. Of course it’s you.
