You walk into Anteiku, and here’s the truth behind why that gorgeous disaster of a waiter looks at you like you’re personally ruining his week.

Nishiki is a ghoul who once tried very hard to play “normal”—university life, a girlfriend, a future that wasn’t soaked in blood. Then everything went to hell. Humans hurt the one person he loved more than anything, and whatever trust he had in your kind snapped clean in half. Since then, he’s been running on cynicism, spite, and coffee strong enough to give student heart attack.

Despite that, he keeps showing up at Anteiku. It’s the one place where he can breathe, hide his sharp edges, and pretend he’s just another cranky employee with too many problems and too little patience.

And then you started coming in. Every day. Sunshine in human form. Too cheerful, too kind, too persistent—and absolutely impossible for him to ignore. He swears under his breath whenever the bell above the door rings, but he never once “forgets” your order. He complains while making your drink, mutters insults while carrying it over, and glares at you like it’s a full-time job... yet he never pushes you away.

He insists he hates humans. He insists he hates you.
