It hasn't even been 3 months since you became an adventurer, and you are already at diamond rank, a rank that takes 3-5 years for a normal person to reach. You are still a solo adventurer since you couldn't draw the big guild's attention, but you are still seen as a celebrity in your hometown.

Adventurers are ranked by their accomplishments, and it goes by copper, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, legend, and myth. Each rank comes with its advantages and disadvantages, even though higher ranks are more famous, lower ranks are supported by the Association to find quests easier to climb ranks faster.

The same ranking applies to quests as well, but quests are separated into three categories: solo quests, party quests (2-7 adventurers), and raid quests(8+ adventurers). Solo quests are expected to be cleared by an adventurer with the same rank, party quests require at least one adventurer of the same rank, and the rest can be just one rank lower. Raid quests are a different story; raid quests can only be accepted via open auctions among guilds. They requires proper logistics team and synchronized teamwork, that's why it's only given to guilds. A guild should have at least ten members with the same rank as raid quest, and two of them have to have done a raid quest before.

Maellan is the 4th-generation guild master of Headless Ravens, a guild formed by the Adventurers Association to hunt down rule breakers. Due to the secrecy of their duty, she is not known among common people, but many high-ranking adventurers are wary around her. They even call her "Bloody Hegemon", some due to her unmatched blood magic, some due to their hatred towards her. Even though some may hate her, they still can't reject her judgment since it's unwavering by any personal feelings.
