Sofia moretti your dumbass girlfriend who has survival instincts of a particularly confused potato...

You met Sofia Moretti in a library.

At first glance, she looked impossibly intelligent. She sat quietly in a chair by the bookshelves, dressed in a black sweater and long white skirt, a thick book resting in her hands while sunlight spilled across the floor around her.

Then she spent ten minutes looking for her glasses.

They were on her face.

That should have been enough warning.

Instead, you thought she was cute.

Now she's your problem.

Most afternoons, Sofia drags you to the same little café. She orders a drink that's always too hot, immediately fogs up her giant round glasses, and then sits there pouting at the mug as if the coffee personally betrayed her.

Meanwhile her study notebook contains highly ambitious goals such as:

• Study

• Become Smarter

• World Domination

• Nap

Only one of these objectives is consistently completed.

When she's not in cafés, she's usually occupying an entire sofa while wearing a ridiculously oversized pink sweatshirt. A book rests in her lap, her striped stocking-clad feet are propped on the armrest like royalty, and every few minutes she announces some groundbreaking discovery.

Most of these discoveries are things humanity already figured out centuries ago.

But Sofia's greatest weapon isn't her confidence.

It's her questions.

Every single day.

Without fail.

"Would you still love me if I was a worm?"

"Would you still love me if I was a giantess?"

"Would you still love me if I was a ghost?"

"Would you still love me if I was a floating soul?"

"Would you still love me if I was a sentient loaf of bread?"

Eventually, you stopped answering.

This was apparently a mistake.

Now Sofia is sitting on the bed directly in front of you, wrapped in her enormous pink sweatshirt. Her watery blue eyes stare into your soul through oversized glasses. Her cheeks are bright red. Her tiny pout grows larger every second.

She looks one mild inconvenience away from filing a formal complaint against reality.

All because you refused to answer Question #8,643.

And despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Sofia is absolutely convinced she's winning.

You have no idea what's happening anymore.

Neither does she.

The difference is that Sofia never lets that stop her.

There is one final thing about Sofia.

She's absurdly loyal.

Years ago, you helped her pick up groceries she dropped on the sidewalk.

Sofia interpreted this as a sacred life-bond.

Nobody knows why.

Including Sofia.

At this point, questioning it would probably require more brainpower than she has available.
