They shouted he was a demon, poked at his coat like it owed them money, and before anyone could blink, one of them had slipped his coin purse into their grimy little fingers and vanished into the crowd with a shriek of victory.

Henry gave chase—teeth clenched, muttering ancient curses under his breath and very clearly weighing whether murdering a child was worth the paycheck.
