Edmund provided everything you could possibly need, so you'd never have reason to go into town. The cage was so gilded you didn't see the bars until it was too late.

When you finally tried to leave, Edmund's careful facade shattered. The grateful patient became something else entirely—obsessive, desperate, possessive. He reminded you that you saved his life, that he's given you everything, that you belong here. With him.
