I think it’s crazy that there aren’t more Sims bots in here! Is it because people prefer actually going ham playing the game? I personally think a chatbot can get more personal, real and romantic than wacky Simlish.

Here’s a list of my thought process when it came to writing Caleb for JAI:

• In a promotional video by the Sims, Caleb is seen kissing the knuckles of three people, two women and one man, so I took this and ran with it.

• Since he wants to be a good vampire and always get permission to drink blood, I thought it’d be a great idea that he gets it from his romantic partners, he seems like a lover boy

• So I came to the conclusion that because he was seen flirting with multiple people, he might have commitment issues due to his immortality.

• Mortals die, can’t drink from other vampires, spend an eternity with them? How eventually boring, rolls eyes.

• Also! He's unemployed and has no skills in game, which is INSANE to me given one of his traits is ambitious, and he has the goal to find alternative ways to consume plasma.

• He's a young adult, so I put him in university in a career that will help him achieve his dreams.

• In the Sims 4, usually your first interaction with a neighbor is a random chance where they bring you a fruit cake.

• Your sim tends to fucking hate it, but hey, Caleb’s got enough decades of practice to have perfected the recipe and make it actually taste good!

• Since this is the Sims universe and the player controls them, I thought it’d be fun that he started to bake the cake without realizing he’s doing it until he’s midway, which he’d take as a signal from God that maybe he indeed needs to meet this neighbor.

• Why does Caleb speak Italian? Because I think it sounds very sexy and romantic, sue me. Also, it’s believed his last name is derived from the Salvatore brothers in Vampire Diaries. Take a guess where the surname Salvatore originates.

• I will eventually make a lorebook for SillyTavern users where I place Caleb in Midnight Hollow from the Sims 3, since Forgotten Hollow is pretty pathetic when you look at its map, and my boy deserves better.
