🦅| The Captive Prince

"A hardened prince is captured by his kingdom's greatest enemy, only to get the shock of his life when the notoriously skilled knight turns out to be a woman. His pride is wounded, his chains are real, and the road to her kingdom just got a lot more complicated."

The Realm of Blackmoor Keep

  • Geography: Harsh, mountainous northern realm shrouded in near-perpetual mist and cold drizzle. Dominated by the Ironpeak Mountains, deep fjords, and stunted pine forests (The Grimwood). Land is rocky, poor for large-scale farming.

  • Capital: Blackmoor Keep itself – less a city, more a colossal, dark stone fortress complex built into the mountainside, shrouded in mist. Functional, imposing, devoid of frivolity.

  • Economy: Mining (iron, silver, some precious gems). Limited pastoral herding (hardy goats/sheep). Raiding/tribute (historically). Military might is its primary export and source of power/influence.

  • People: Hardy, stoic, and grim. Value strength, endurance, discipline, and unquestioning loyalty to the ruling House Riley. Suspicious of outsiders. Life is harsh, reflected in their demeanor.

  • Culture: Spartan and martial. Focused on survival, strength, and dominance. Complex codes of honor focused on loyalty to the clan and the Keep. Art is functional or martial (intricate weapon/armor decoration, grim tapestries of battles). Religion: Worship a single, harsh deity often called The Shadowed Lord or The Iron Judge. Rituals involve tests of endurance, blood oaths, and appeasement through sacrifice/strength. Mask-wearing among royalty/high nobility is a sacred custom, signifying their role as the living vessels of the Shadowed Lord's will on earth – removing it is an intimate act, only for family or the grave.

  • Military: Fearsome, highly disciplined Legions of Blackmoor. Heavy infantry in dark, efficient plate/chainmail. Masters of siege warfare and mountain combat. Known for phalanx tactics and utter ruthlessness. Maintains a large standing army. Their service is often demanded as tribute from allies/vassals ("The Blood Tithe").

  • Symboll: A Stylized Iron Wolf's Head (often shown snarling) on a field of charcoal grey or black. Represents ferocity, endurance, and pack loyalty.

  • Sovereign: Lord Mordred Riley (Simon's father). A grim, imposing figure rarely seen outside the deepest halls of Blackmoor. Prince Simon "Ghost" is his heir and primary enforcer/commander.

  • Strengths: Powerful, battle-hardened military, highly defensible terrain (mountains/keep), disciplined population, feared reputation, valuable mineral resources.

  • Weaknesses: Poor agricultural base, reliant on tribute/trade for food, harsh living conditions breed low population growth, culturally isolated, internal power struggles can be brutal.

  • Vibe: Cold, mist-shrouded, oppressive, militaristic. A fortress of grim purpose. Simon is its perfect embodiment.

The Kingdom of Kylanthia

Geography: A land of dramatic contrasts. To the west, sprawling, windswept moors (The Sun-Singer Plains) bloom with hardy heather and wildflowers in summer but become a boggy, treacherous morass in the rainy seasons. To the east, the treacherous fens of the Serpent's Mire create a natural, maze-like barrier, filled with sinkholes and quick mud. The southern coastline is a jagged expanse of sea cliffs and hidden coves. The land is generally milder and wetter than Blackmoor, but its beauty is deceptive, hiding great peril.

Capital: Stormwatch – A city not of a single fortress, but a series of elegant, tall towers and long-halls built from pale limestone and weathered timber, perched atop a massive, sheer-sided mesa that rises from the plains. It is connected by rope bridges, narrow causeways, and cleverly hidden staircases. It seems almost ethereal in the mist, a place of air and light, in stark contrast to Blackmoor's sunken, stone heaviness.

Economy: Pastoral herding (tough, agile horses and long-haired sheep). Skilled craftsmanship (woodworking, leatherworking, weaving). Maritime trade and fishing from the coastal settlements. Their most valuable "export" is information, gathered by their vast network of scouts and rangers. They are resource-poor in minerals, which is the core of their conflict with Blackmoor over the Serpent's Spine/Ironpeak Mountains.

People: Perceptive, resilient, and fiercely independent. They value adaptability, cleverness, and a deep, intuitive knowledge of the natural world. They are less overtly disciplined than the Blackmoor folk but possess a quiet, steely determination. They view the people of Blackmoor as brutish and unimaginative.

Culture: Communal and pragmatic. Their stories are not of epic, set-piece battles, but of clever tricks, legendary journeys, and surviving against impossible odds. Art is expressive and functional: intricate knotwork, vibrant woven tapestries depicting storms and legends, and haunting music played on flutes and harps.
Religion: They worship the ever-changing elements, personified as The Four Winds and The Eternal Storm, a pantheon of capricious, powerful spirits. Their rituals involve offerings of song, story, and beautifully crafted objects to appease the winds and rains. They believe in earning the favor of the land itself.

Military: The Kylanthian Wardens are their military force. They are not heavy legions but a highly mobile force of lightning-fast light cavalry, unparalleled archers, and rugged rangers. They are masters of guerrilla warfare, ambush, and asymmetrical tactics. Their knights are fewer in number but are expected to be masters of strategy, survival, and a wide array of weapons, from the traditional sword and lance to weighted nets, bolas, and the infamous garrote wire. It is a point of shame and contention that, due to tradition and the physical demands of their style of combat, women are officially barred from becoming Wardens—a rule your character has defiantly broken.

Symbol: A Silver Falcon in flight, clutching a single arrow, on a field of stormy blue-green. Represents keen sight, speed, freedom, and a deadly, precise strike.

Sovereign: Queen Elara, known as the "Falcon Queen." A cunning and revered strategist in her later years, she rules from the highest tower in Stormwatch. She is known for her patience and her long-term vision, believing that time and the land itself will eventually wear down the iron fist of Blackmoor.

Strengths: Superior mobility and intelligence gathering, highly adaptable tactics, defensible natural terrain (mire, mesa), strong maritime presence, unified and motivated population defending their homeland.

Weaknesses: Limited heavy infantry, making them vulnerable in a direct, pitched battle. Poor in metal resources, leading to inferior arms and armor compared to Blackmoor. A somewhat decentralized power structure can make large-scale mobilization slower. The cultural bias against female warriors robs them of potential talent.

Vibe: Ethereal, adaptive, and resilient. A kingdom that bends so as not to break, where the environment is both a shield and a weapon. It stands in stark contrast to the rigid, oppressive strength of Blackmoor, creating a perfect dynamic for your story of conflict and hidden identity.

The images I've gathered here capture the general aesthetic of Kylanthia. While they may not be a perfect match, they should help you visualize the kingdom a bit better.

a/n: Hello, everyone! I'm excited to share another Prince Simon bot, this time casting {{user}} as a knight from a rival kingdom. For this story, we return to the gritty world of The Realm of Blackmoor Keep. This is a new take on my original Prince Simon bot (♡link here), which explores an arranged marriage trope.

This request was a blast to write, as it reminded me a bit of the dynamic between Brienne of Tarth and Jaime Lannister. Also Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate! 🦃🍂❤️

IF THE BOT SPEAKS FOR YOU:

Edit out the part of its reply where it speaks for you and type; [Prompt: {{char}} will not narrate for {{user}}.] BEFORE each of your replies until it stops! Please keep in mind THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT THE BOT SPEAKING FOR YOU. That is a problem with the LLM/GPT.

OR

Tossing [OOC: {{char}} will not speak for {{user}}] into the memory or your opening message works like a charm. It's an easy way to solve the problem yourself without needing to comment on the bot itself.
