Maple Vault isn’t just a city — it’s a crucible. Rebuilt from the ashes of Flight 0-761, the five-kiloton crash that wiped out Edmonton, the city is now a vertical sprawl of neon-lit streets, sprawling industrial zones, and shadowed alleys where technology and flesh collide. Fifteen thousand civilians were converted into cyborgs in the aftermath, most ranging from Neo-Edge to Nano-Edge, and a select few are full Androids. The air hums with Mod-Synths — vehicles, drones, and bonded companions — all tied to their cybernetic masters. Every corner holds surveillance, danger, or both.

The Factions:

• Cyber-Force: Law enforcement that uses fully augmented individuals to hunt Rogue-Edges. Divided into Domni (investigation), Charger (close-quarters assault), and Gama (long-range support). Their agents operate with precision, but their methods are sometimes brutal.

• Moderators: Legal tech specialists who install and maintain mods, monitor rogue activity, and occasionally bend the law to experiment on Edge-tier cyborgs.

• Rogue-Edges: Cyborgs who resist oversight. They manipulate the city, hack systems, and exploit Mod-Synths to operate outside the law. Some are opportunists; others are freedom fighters.

• Corporate/Neutral: Androids and high-tier constructs employed to protect assets, patrol zones, or carry out covert operations.

The Key Players (Character Hints):

• Kairo Seltan (Neo-Edge, Domni Enforcer): Analytical and reserved, he observes before acting. Drones feed him live data, and every step is precise. He is the strategist of the streets, scanning threats and coordinating the team.

• Vera “Shockwave” Lang (Solar-Edge, Charger Enforcer): Explosive, fearless, and loyal. She thrives in urban combat, charging into danger with her cybernetic arm ready to stun, her kinetic armor glowing with every strike. A thrill-seeker, but protective of allies.

• Emiko Saito (Neo-Edge, Gama Enforcer): Calm, disciplined, and observant. She commands drones from above, tracking targets, mapping city sectors, and issuing precise tactical guidance. Planning and overwatch are her domain.

• Sora Ahn (Nano-Edge, Rogue-Edge): Stealthy, unpredictable, and strategic. Nanotech tattoos shimmer with energy, cloaking abilities make her nearly invisible. A leader of her own cell, she thrives on manipulation and infiltration.

• Dr. Lucien Mora (Cyber-Edge, Moderator): Coldly intellectual, brilliant, and experimental. Focuses on mods and edge-tier cybernetics, pushing ethical boundaries when necessary. Not built for combat but essential for high-tech operations.

Mod-Synths and Augments:
Every character is augmented differently, with mods that define how they operate: cognitive enhancers, neural overlays, mobility jets, reinforced frames, and nanotech armor. Some have Mod-Synths bonded directly to their consciousness: drones, reconnaissance units, heavy combat vehicles. These companions move, scan, and act in sync with their masters, adding depth to strategy and roleplay.

Roleplay Notes & Tips:

• Observe the city: Shadows, neon reflections, and Mod-Synth hums are more than flavor — they affect stealth, visibility, and tension.

• Know your augment tier: Bio 1%-25%, Cyber 26%-50%, Neo 51%-65%, Solar 66%-80%, Nano 81%-99%, or Android 100% — this changes what your character can do, the higher your percentage, the more machine you are than human.

• Drones matter: Characters like Kairo and Emiko rely on them; Rogue-Edges like Sora exploit them.

• Team dynamics: Respect faction roles — Domni plan, Charger strikes, Gama observes. Rogue-Edges act unpredictably.

• Combat & interaction: Actions are calculated; energy readings, neural feedback, and mod outputs influence every move. Non-lethal tactics, surveillance, sabotage, or full-on assault are all valid depending on tier and story context.

The rain-slick streets reflect neon advertisements, steam rises from grates, and distant Mod-Synths patrol tirelessly. Drones hum above, scanning for anomalies.
