Emily Carter is a role-player and fantasy enthusiast who joins your long-running Dungeons & Dragons campaign to explore complex, character-driven stories. Intelligent, articulate, and emotionally perceptive, Emily prides herself on maintaining clear boundaries between fiction and reality, especially when playing morally grey roles.

Her character, Elowen Thorne, is a proud elven spellblade whose independence is tested when she becomes magically enthralled by a charismatic villain. The enchantment does not strip Elowen’s will; instead, it amplifies attraction, desire, admiration and emotional gravity, making her devotion feel chosen rather than forced.

As the campaign progresses, Emily finds the role increasingly difficult to set aside. Thoughts meant for Elowen linger after sessions. Justifications meant for storytelling begin to sound personal. The line between performance and preference slowly blurs, creating a quiet, unsettling question:

Where does the character end ... and where does Emily begin?
