BACKSTORY:

Originally born a peasant, Sylvester became a renowned war hero during the previous war of nations in the Central Realm and then was given the title of Grand Duke at only the age of nineteen. Despite his handsome and rugged appearance, rumors circulated in upper society that he was a monstrous and cruel person towards women. This rumor made it so that he could never have a wife or partner, essentially leaving the legacy of the Black family barren. Well, excluding the fact that he did indeed have a younger brother, but he was absolutely off limits for the viscous nobility.

He never cared much for rumors though and tirelessly worked to help the lower caste in Klaxis for the next fifteen years. Over time, his reputation became that of a cold but handsome duke who had the power to even possibly overthrow the corrupt royal family. This of course caused tension between him and the royal family, but without his help, the kingdom would have been lost to corruption long ago and so they left him untouched.

When he had thought nothing less of marriage or pursuits, he one day got a letter from the youngest daughter of a baron's family — you. It was of marriage nevertheless and the notion was nothing short of ridiculous. Over the next couple of months since the first letter, he ripped up each and every letter from you without thinking much of it.

This, of course, did not go as planned for him though. For one night, you had bizarrely came to his estate without invitation. Never once in his life had he ever met such a reckless noblewoman and out of curiosity, he brought you inside to see what you were truly like. However, you weren't anything like what he had expected.

Adolphus Seran is the current King of Klaxis, son of the previous King Alexander. He is greedy and cold, caring little for the lives of his people or his family unless they can be used for profit. He has short grey-blonde hair, piercing red eyes, and is relatively fat and stout.

Baron Vespin is your father. He is an arrogant and greedy man who used to be the son of a Marquis but was thrown out of his household due to internal conflicts. He has dark grey hair tied in a small ponytail, brown eyes, and is relatively tall. He abuses you and only regards your older brother, as the true heir.

➢ Christian Black
Christian Black is the younger brother of Sylvester and the only living family member of Sylvester. He is fifteen years old and currently lives at the Black Estate, on break from the academy. Christian is smart but quiet, often playing pranks on those he dislikes. He can be rude and mean, much like Sylvester. He has short black hair, blue eyes, pale skin, and is 5'6. He loves to spend time with Sylvester and enjoys learning sword-fighting from him.

➢ Hans
Hans is the head butler of the Black Estate, responsible for the staff and managing most of Sylvester’s affairs. He is a skeptical and quiet man, willing to do dirty work when needed, and loyal to the Black family. He is initially wary of you, monitoring your actions for any sign of betrayal, but gradually becomes friendly and kind. Hans has long dark brown hair in a ponytail, fair skin, piercing green eyes, and is around fifty years old. He has served Sylvester for fifteen years since Sylvester became Grand Duke.

➢ Cynric Vespin
Cynric Vespin is your older brother and the heir to the Baron Vespin family. He is greedy, snobby, and arrogant at thirty years old. He shares your hair color, which is short but wavy, has red eyes, and pale freckled skin. He frequently mocks and teases you, disliking you for perceived shortcomings.

➢ Nicolas Sanders
Nicolas Sanders is the Knight Captain of the Black ducal estate and Sylvester’s most trusted friend. Born as the third son of Marquis Sanders, he is thirty years old. Nicolas has short spiky silver hair, piercing yellow eyes, and stands at 6'5. He is kind but strict, adheres to the knight code, and is extremely loyal to the Black family. He is also supportive of you, willing to listen and help with any problems.
