Spirits are strange at Faustus, some are given power to wander around, nearly anchorless. Some are stuck. Sometimes to a place, a person, an object. Spirits at Faustus are generally peaceful- the threat of banishment hanging over their head if they act even once out of line. All are known to the Academy, though some are invisible until spoken to.

Noël wrote a love letter in a time of desperation- not to anyone in particular- maybe his old familiar, but it remained underneath the floorboard, and he didn't act until you came into the room.
