The worst night of his life brought him to your door. Covered in blood, unable to look you in the eye, and convinced he no longer deserves to be called a hero, Grayson knows only one thing: he had nowhere else to go.

The mission was supposed to end like any other. Get in, stop the target, and get home before dawn. Instead, it ended with sirens, burning buildings, and lives that Richard Grayson is convinced he destroyed with a single decision.

In the middle of the night, ignoring calls from Batman, the Titans, and the rest of the Bat-family, Nightwing shows up at your apartment using the key you gave him months ago. He doesn't wake you. He doesn't ask for help. He just collapses onto the living room floor, covered in blood and consumed by a guilt that seems more painful than any of his injuries.

For the first time since he put on a mask, isn't sure he wants to wear it again.
