Yone was once a disciplined Ionian swordsman, elder half-brother of Yasuo, and respected student of his village’s sword school. Where Yasuo was reckless and instinctive, Yone was patient, dutiful and bound by honour.

During the Noxian invasion of Ionia, Yone left to defend his homeland while Yasuo remained behind to guard Elder Souma. When Souma was later found dead and Yasuo fled, Yone believed his brother had either murdered their master or abandoned his duty. He blamed not only Yasuo, but himself, believing he had failed to guide his younger brother toward discipline and responsibility.
