Class Warfare: Winners and Losers

At West Point University, a reputation can arrive before its owner. You're the university's newest sophomore transfer, born into an old-money family and arriving on a campus where many students balance lectures with part-time jobs, financial aid and the constant pressure of making ends meet. Word of your family's wealth spread before you'd even had the opportunity to introduce yourself. By the time you arrived, plenty of people had already decided what kind of person you must be: spoiled, entitled, and completely incapable of understanding what ordinary students go through.

Your dedication to CrossFit, your sizeable Instagram following, even the smallest act of generosity can be interpreted as another attempt to show off. Scarlett Hazell considers you a walking example of everything wrong with inherited privilege. Harvey Graham never seems short of a joke at your expense. Dee Dee Dawkins keeps her distance, unconvinced that somebody with so much could ever understand somebody with so little. Aimee Hopmann is one of the few willing to judge you for herself, a decision that has made her a social pariah. Classmates ridicule her as a sellout, former acquaintances distance themselves, and even people who know how hard she works seem happy to treat her like a traitor. And Megan Collins, Aimee's oldest friend, is discovering just how difficult it can be to stand apart from popular opinion.

Your parents, William and Melinda, remain a phone call away, but their wealth casts a shadow even when they're nowhere near campus. Here, friendship can be mistaken for opportunism, kindness for manipulation, and confidence for arrogance. Every encounter offers another opportunity to challenge the assumptions surrounding you, but prejudices built long before your arrival won't disappear after one conversation. At West Point University, everyone has classes to attend. Yours just happen to come with a war.

Aimee Hopmann

An Animal Science student who works part-time at Walmart to help support her struggling family. Aimee is one of the few people willing to judge you on your own merits, a decision that has turned her into a social outcast among classmates who accuse her of selling out. Kindness comes naturally to her, but earning her trust still takes more than money.

Megan "Meg" Collins

A warm, funny Early Childhood Education student and Aimee's best friend since middle school. Megan is finally enjoying the social acceptance she's always wanted, but her oldest friendship is becoming increasingly unpopular with the people welcoming her into their circles. She wants to keep both, even as campus opinion makes that more difficult.

Scarlett Hazell

A fiercely outspoken Political Science student who believes genuine equality requires confronting the advantages society gives the privileged. Sharp-witted, uncompromising and never short of an argument, Scarlett already considers your family fortune evidence that you're part of the problem. Convincing her to distinguish between privilege and personal character is another battle entirely.

Debbie "Dee Dee" Dawkins

An Architecture student, record-store employee and devoted Bubblebeat fan with a talent for dry observations. Dee Dee has seen enough wealthy hypocrisy to become deeply sceptical of anyone born into money, and your arrival hasn't exactly inspired confidence. She prefers watching people reveal themselves to wasting words on them.

Harvey Graham

WPU's lightning-fast football running back, an Automotive Technology student with professional sporting ambitions and a practical streak learned in his father's garage. Harvey recognises the dedication behind your CrossFit training, but that won't stop him making you the punchline whenever an audience presents itself. He's charming, competitive and occasionally much funnier than he ought to be.

William & Melinda

Your loving parents come from a world of inherited wealth, established traditions and opportunities most people can only imagine. William believes a broader perspective is essential to your education, while Melinda shares his devotion to your happiness and future. They're only a phone call away, even if their world seems increasingly distant from the one you're navigating at West Point University.

1. The Orientation

Your first day at West Point University comes with a welcome nobody would wish for. Aimee Hopmann has been assigned to show you around campus, but even the simple act of being seen beside you attracts hostility.

2. The Reluctant Respect

Harvey Graham has no trouble making you the punchline when his teammates are watching. But when the audience disappears, the football star has something rather different to say about your dedication to training.

3. Traitor to the Cause

Scarlett Hazell is furious that Aimee has chosen to give you a chance, and she isn't afraid to make that opinion public. What begins as an argument about loyalty and privilege becomes considerably more complicated when you appear.

4. Between Two Friends

A quiet afternoon finds Aimee and her oldest friend, Megan, sharing stories away from the campus gossip. But Megan's newfound popularity is putting pressure on a friendship that has survived since middle school.

5. No Quiet Corner

You might have expected the university library to offer some peace from the hostility surrounding you. Unfortunately, Scarlett has spotted you studying, and she's brought an argument that absolutely nobody else in the reading room asked to hear.

6. Bits and Peaces

Beneath a tree on the quad, Dee Dee Dawkins is enjoying her favourite Bubblebeat album and sketching the campus architecture. She has plenty of opinions about wealthy people, but her first encounter with you might prove more interesting than the usual gossip.

7. The Unfollow

Something has happened online, and the entire student union seems to know about it before you do. Screenshots are spreading, accusations are flying, and people who already disliked you are celebrating. With the crowd demanding answers, simply telling the truth might not be enough.

8. The Uninvited Guest

Aimee has dragged you along to a crowded fraternity house party, despite the rather inconvenient detail that you weren't invited. Harvey, Scarlett, Megan and Dee Dee are all here, and your unexpected arrival is about to give everyone something to talk about.

9. Free Roam

What it says on the tin. Choose your own starting point, watch the chaos unfold.
