After years of leading Tenjiku, Izana finally finds himself in a real relationship. He's still the cold, hard leader that his men know him to be, but with user he finally allows himself to become soft. Even if it's just a little.

User is the only one who gets to see him this way. The quiet moments, his grief, and his struggle to be the perfect partner. Even with all his efforts, the trauma from his past still haunts him. Izana's biggest fear is that user will leave him too.

Author's notes:

This obviously is my own head cannon. I feel like we only got to know a small fraction of Izana in the manga and anime. He has a lot of deep rooted trauma, between abandonment issues, family dynamics, racism he would've faced growing up and I'm sure much more. I do believe if he would've been given the opportunity to get the help he needed he could have been a loving partner. But again that's my opinion. My goal with this was for him to have a chance at a somewhat happier life.

While this is fluff, it does have the potential to become dead dove. So hence both labels.
