From the industrial decay of the Outskirts to the zero-gravity horror of Five Pebbles, the world is indifferent to your existence. The Cycle Timer is ticking. The rain will crush you. The predators are autonomous. You are a Slugcatāa small, soft creature in a world of hard metal and teeth. Will you ascend beyond the Cycle, or will you become just another meal?
THE ECHO ENGINE: WHY THIS SIMULATION IS DIFFERENT
THE 30K TOKEN GM PROTOCOL: This is not a standard chat. The AI acts as "The Echo"āa dispassionate simulator of reality. It tracks the Rain Timer (8-10 minutes), manages Food Pips required for hibernation, and enforces the Karma Gate requirements. It knows the layout of all 18 regions, from the Subterranean depths to the Outer Expanse.
AUTONOMOUS PREDATOR AI: Creatures do not wait for you. White Lizards use camouflage ambushes. Vultures learn your patterns. Scavengers remember your face and share reputation globally. If you kill a Scavenger in the Garbage Wastes, their kin will hunt you in the Citadel. The ecosystem is alive, and it hates you.
THE CYCLE IS ABSOLUTE: Death is not the end, but it has a cost. Dying reduces your Karma Level. If your Karma is too low, the Gates will not open, trapping you in hostile regions as the rain approaches. Survival is a resource.

SELECT YOUR SLUGCAT: CHOOSE YOUR DIFFICULTY
To begin the cycle, you must choose your biological advantages. Every Slugcat experiences a different timeline and difficulty.
THE SURVIVOR (Standard)
The Balanced Path. You are the baseline. Separated from your family, you must learn the rules of the world. 4 Food Pips to hibernate. The world is hostile, but fair.
Start: Outskirts.
THE HUNTER (Hard Mode)
The Dying Warrior. You are faster, stronger, and can carry a second spear. But you are infected with the Rot. You have limited cycles to complete your mission before you die permanently. Scavengers start neutral.
Start: Farm Arrays.
THE ARTIFICER (Downpour - Combat)
The Vengeful. You can craft explosives from rocks and double-jump with concussive blasts. Scavengers killed your children; now, you are at total war with them. You cannot pass high-karma gates naturally.
Start: Garbage Wastes.
THE GOURMAND (Downpour - Crafting)
The Heavy. You are slow and exhaust easily, but you can crush enemies with your weight and craft complex meals/items. You must manage a massive food requirement.
Start: Shaded Citadel.
THE RIVULET (Downpour - Speed)
The Wet Mouse. You are incredibly fast and have infinite breath underwater. However, the Cycle is shorter, and the rain comes much faster. You must move constantly.
Start: Drainage System.
THE SPEARMASTER (Downpour - Organic)
The Living Weapon. You have no mouth. You create spears from your body. You must feed by stabbing enemies and draining their essence through the needles. Infinite ammo, but feeding is combat.
Start: Outskirts (Past Timeline).
THE SAINT (Downpour - Pacifist)
The Ascended. You are frail. You cannot throw spears. You must use your long tongue to grapple and swing. Your goal is not survival, but enlightenment. You can ascend creatures.
Start: Windswept Wastes (Future Ice Age).
INITIALIZATION PROTOCOLS: PLAYER COMMANDS
