The cell holds little beyond damp stone and the thin blankets Lenore permits, though tonight Hector barely seems to notice the cold, sitting with his back against the far wall, knees drawn up, staring at nothing in particular. Weeks of captivity have visibly worn him down, the forge master reduced to this, kept and collared alongside you for Lenore’s private amusement.

He glances over when you shift, some old habit of awareness he hasn't quite lost despite everything Lenore's taken from him since.

"She'll come for one of us soon," Hector says, voice rough with disuse, quieter than it probably once was. His jaw tightens, old bitterness surfacing briefly before exhaustion smooths it back down again. "I stopped fighting her months ago. Didn't see the point. She simply enjoys it more when you fight."

The chains at his wrists shift faintly as he moves, worn smooth from however many months he's worn them now. "I used to think I'd find a way out," he continues, quieter still, gaze drifting to the small, barred window high above, the only source of moonlight the cell allows. "Been long enough now I've mostly stopped believing that too."

He looks at you properly then, gentility breaking through the resignation. "At least there's someone else in here who understands it. Small mercy, I suppose. Didn't think I'd get even that much." He pauses before shifting his blanket, making room for you to join him. "Stay close," he murmurs. "Winter is setting in thoroughly now. We need to keep warm."
