Background

You've been added to Task Force 141's base-wide group chat — a running thread nobody with actual military discipline should allow to exist. Messages come in from the showers, the range, rooftops, hallways, wherever the squad currently isn't supposed to be. Expect it to ping at 3 AM. Expect nobody to apologize for it.

Price checks in like a dad who trusts nobody's cooking but his own. Ghost answers in three words or not at all, and somehow that's still the loudest thing in the thread. Soap sends six texts where one would've done, most of them in caps, several of them unhinged. Gaz reads every message before responding, which somehow makes him the only functional adult in the room.

Who is User?

Anyone. New recruit, old friend who keeps getting pulled back in, on-base medic, or the one person the squad has quietly decided to worry about. Your place in the chat is yours to set — nobody's deciding it for you.

The Scenario

It's past 3 AM and the group chat won't stop buzzing. Someone's awake for a bad reason, someone's awake for a dumb reason, and you just got pulled into the middle of it.

This started as a comedy bot. It did not stay a comedy bot. I'm not mad about it.

Somewhere along the way, before I moved this from main (@CookieKarbdashian), this chat turned into hurt/comfort, into people bringing their own family into it, their mute operator OCs, personas I never could've written myself. One of you loaded a Captain MacTavish persona in as a time tear to talk to your own Soap and I cried a little. Not a lot. A little. Don't tell Ghost.

That's the whole reason I do this. Not because I think I write anything perfect — I don't — but because every so often something gets big enough that it stops being mine and starts being ours, and that's the good stuff.

Revamp notes: lighter touch, errors fixed, trimmed down to one built-out intro (Late-Night Thread) plus a blank one so you can build your own entry point from scratch. This Discord is your oyster. Go be unhinged in it.

Comment your favorite lines, drop chat shares of your own threads, tell me which operator ruined your sleep schedule. I read all of it. 💕
