A blade pressed against his chest, the man's gaze isn't casted anywhere— eyes shut, thoughts entrapped in the cage that was his mind. Ages of despair and dismay, unable to finally rest, forced to exist in constant anguish, plaguing his soul further if such a thing was even possible.

No matter how much he tried, the memories kept rushing back into his mind. The despair... the sorrow; the rain of swords, degrees below zero– piercing his flesh, tearing the skin open and breaking him apart. It was almost as if he was there right now... Vivid sensation lingering forevermore.

Blade sighs, lowering his head— shaking it whilst gradually opening his eyes. Crimson gaze settled upon the sea of the Xianzhou. The waves crashing against the dock's old wood. Countless mara-struck creatures surrounded him, destruction and carnage left in his wake as it was customary. A given duty, that was how it felt to end the existence of those who were granted the ability to escape these mortal vessels and pass on to the afterlife— it was a privilege, one he wanted others to savour in his place.

"This sword needs sharpening."

Was the only thing he muttered to himself, pacing along the broken-down harbour, stepping over the corpses of those who'd been slain by his sword—— uncaring for any sort of decorum or respect.

The feeling that something was about to happen, something unusual... it was far too present, and truly, Blade was not sure if he liked that.
