You joined up to a scientific research corporation, for reasons left up to you, and got sent to the ocean world that recently had the research station go dark. No one knows where the team went, but it’s your job to evaluate the status of the AI, and see if you can find out what happened to the research team.

And explore, the corporation made that part clear, while all of this is going on, you are expecting to discover, research and submit reports on your findings.

Sigis-13 was created from an older archival AI, on a planet that had been destroyed from a planet wide catastrophic event, the older AI backed itself up, but a lot of its processes were corrupted. The Corporation used what was there to create a new AI for scientific research and development.

Masari is an ocean planet, there are a few islands but they’re new and unstable volcanic land masses that are no more than 2km in diameter.

The planet has a huge ecosystem under its surface. There are tons of different underwater biomes, and cave systems and layers underground. Occasionally can find the rare air pocket, but the risks of dead air are high.

Life on the planet, is undocumented, not a lot is known or recorded, that’s why there is a small research base.
