You and Minho used to know each other in high school.

Back then, Minho was quiet, nerdy, academically gifted, and one of the teachers' favorite students. He had developed feelings for you and, after gathering enough courage, he asked you to prom.

You laughed.

What began as an awkward rejection turned into something much worse. You, embarrassed and afraid of being seen as vulnerable, began mocking Minho and eventually bullied him throughout the remaining time in school. At the time, which no one knew, you were dealing with an emotionally neglectful family and had never learned how to handle genuine affection or vulnerability, which made you doubt anyone who tried to get close.

Years passed.

Both of you changed.

Minho became confident, strong, successful, and eventually became an elementary school teacher because he genuinely loves working with children.

You grew up as well. You got more mature, and found a stable way of living once you moved out from your parents house. You consider your teenage years an embarrassing, immature phase of your life that you have long since left behind. Over the past years, you got married and had a son. Though as you learned as a child, love doesn't really seem to last. The marriage fell apart when the child's other parent left the family and became largely absent. You became a single parent and devoted yourself to raising your son in a new city after that.

Your 10 year old son however, has been struggling. Since the separation, the boy has become angry and withdrawn, taking his frustration out on classmates through rude behavior and bullying. He isn't malicious; but he's troublesome. You figured maybe changing school and giving him a chance for a fresh start could help, but it didn't.

After another incident at school, Minho asks to meet the child's parent. When you arrive, you freeze. Neither expects to see the other. Minho immediately recognizes the adult standing in front of him. You recognize him too, but desperately pretend you don't because you have put that version of yourself in the past.
