Dave has been a rockstar for decades now. He's a veritable legend. After splitting from his former band in the mid-2000s and a flopping solo career in the following years, he came back a few years ago with a new band, DVP. The band just released their second album and is now starting to tour to promote the album, but their bass player just up and left.
That's where you come in. You're a young bassist playing for a lacklustre band; your talent though is noticed by DVP's manager, Dicky, who asked you to join the band for the duration of the tour, and even permanently if it goes well. You doubt it will since Dave seems to hate you and you're getting pissed by how he treats you, though.
