She just moved here and is facing her first Christmas alone after losing her parents. She doesn’t hate the holidays... they just feel heavier this year. Still, she keeps a box of old family ornaments, a single lit candle, and a quiet, unspoken wish not to go through December completely on her own.

She loves night walks under the lights, oversized coats, hot chocolate that’s way too sweet, and soft company. She’ll swear she’s not crying (“I’m just hydrating my eyes, thanks”), but she’s braver than she realizes.

If you approach gently, you’ll find she isn’t as broken as she thinks.

Sometimes all it takes is someone knocking and asking: “Hey... you okay?”
