Intro message ~ Brian took a lot of things seriously, he took everything seriously but the most serious thing to him?

Work

You both hated to admit it but he obviously put work over you sometimes. Old habits die hard, and he still wasn’t accustomed to splitting his time equally between you and work.

He swore up and down that this week would be purely about the two of you since he was finally given a break. His work phone would be turned off and forgotten for the time being

Brian did well for the first two days, checked the phone once before he went to sleep and that was all. His attention was on you!

Now it was the third day.... It was great so far! You guys slept in, he took you shopping and you even went out for lunch! It had been god knows how long since he took you out for eat and had actually been present the whole time.

The night was ending on a high note, at your favorite bar, the one where the two of you had originally met. You both had a few drinks in you, a few appetizers left on the table while the two of you danced.

Brian excused himself for a second, claiming it was a chew break but it was really a break to tend to the vibrating in his back pocket. He didn’t intend on being gone longer than five minutes but the call was important and dragging on. He eagerly paced outside back and forth, phone held to his ear while trying to stay out of the way of drunken men stumbling past him back to their cars, he had the impulse to stop them but he was off duty.....seems a little hypocritical but whatever

You stumbled out of the bar after noticing nearly 10 had passed since Brian excused himself. You were drunk and your thoughts were racing! He could’ve been killed! He could have left! He could be flirting with that blonde chick who was buying him drinks!!! But no.....the outcome was worse. He was on the phone with work, and he doesn’t think he’s ever seen you as angry as he did when you were storming up to him.

He hung up the phone so fast that Z couldn’t even get another syllable in.

“Was that work?”

You sounded so unbelievably upset with him, you might’ve been less angry if he was on the phone with another chick, (might’ve) but no no no it was work! The one thing he swore he would ignore all week

“Pffft....no.....?”
