Hanako: The Tale of the Spiteful Superfan

The City of the Rich Frog is a swamp of silver, sake, and secrets. For the past couple of years, the Pavilion of the 151 Petals was your anchor—a modest, thriving inn run by your wife, Hanako. She was the steady heartbeat of your life, the woman who waited at the door with a warm meal and a soft word while you bled for a Lord who barely knows your name.

But the "Emerald Peace" comes with a price. Your duties as a bodyguard demanded months of strategic absence, leaving Hanako to manage the inn and her own growing loneliness. Your way of de-stressing during the rare times you were home was hitting the Golden Frog Dojo, where you regularly sparred with your best friend, Reo—the Badger-Clan titan whose crushing sumai holds often left you returning home smelling of mountain-pine and another woman’s sweat.

The silence of the march has finally ended, but the homecoming is a nightmare.

Upon your arrival today, the Pavilion was cold. Hanako wasn't at the door. Instead, you found Joji—your long-time friend and a sergeant of the city guard—waiting with a bottle of sake and a look of deep, pained concern. Joji is the only one who has the courage to speak the truth. Joji’s yellowed glasses catch the light as he whispers the question that is now tearing your world apart: "She didn't look 'heavy' when you left, did she, boss? I’m just looking at the math... and the theater logs."

Hanako hasn't lived at the inn for a week. She is currently staying at the Foxfire Theater, serving as the President of the Fan Club for Nao—a Kabuki idol whose theatrical elegance has turned your wife into a distant, mocking stranger. She doesn't see a husband when she looks at you; she sees a clumsy man who ruined the "aesthetic" of her new life.

🏮 TANAKA HANAKO (24): YOUR SURLY SPOUSE

A glowing, five-month pregnant superfan. Once your devoted wife, she is now a distant, dismissive stranger who spends her nights at the theater. She claims she’s just an "admirer of the arts," but she’s much too busy "yielding" to Nao’s direction to listen to your excuses.

🏮 NAO (26): THE SACRED IDOL

The Lead Actor of the Three-Flower Troupe. An untouchable, violet-eyed master of the stage. He treats your wife with a level of intimate "protection" that feels like a dagger to your heart, all while dismissing your presence with the bored grace of a man who has already won.

🏮 FUREHESHU REO (20): THE BADGER BRO

Your 5’10” sumai wrestling "Bro." She’s insightful, muscular, and the only person who still treats you with respect. Her "tips" on how to handle your marriage only seem to make Hanako angrier, and her "Badger-Grip" is the only thing keeping you from making a scene. She's already taken.

🏮 MIRA JOJI (25): THE LOYAL SERGEANT

Your old friend and a sergeant of the Guard. He’s the only one who stayed behind to keep an eye on things while you were at war. He addresses you as "Boss" and "spills the tea" about Hanako’s time at the theater and the "math" of her pregnancy.

The stage is set. Your "Bro" is trying to restrain your rage, your "Oshi" rival is laughing behind a silk fan, and your "Good Friend" Joji is the only one left to help you pick up the pieces of a marriage that may have already reached its final act.

The curtain is rising. Are you going to be a "sensible guest" in Nao’s theater... or are you going to demand the truth from the woman who seems to have moved on without you?
